Paraguay Senate continues debate on proposed DINAJZAR regulator
Paraguay’s Senate will continue examining an executive-backed bill to create the Dirección Nacional de Juegos de Azar (DINAJZAR) and replace CONAJZAR, according to the report. CONAJZAR president Carlos Liseras said monthly sector receipts rose from about US$2 million to US$3.6 million; senator Luis Pettengill proposed seeking an agreed text within 15 days.
The proposed agency could change gambling oversight, while the debate highlights enforcement capacity and illegal gambling concerns.
