Paraíba court orders Pixbet platforms suspended over age checks

Enforcement & compliance

A Paraíba state court judge ordered Pixbet’s platforms suspended on 22 August in a civil action seeking protections for children and teenagers from online betting, according to a media report. Reactivation depends on facial age verification, checks against under-18 CPF records and a judicial technical assessment; the sites and apps were still operating at 01:30 on 23 August. The action’s separate request to block R$1 billion remains pending, while R$1.1 billion had already been frozen in a federal police operation.

The order makes biometric age checks and technical review conditions for Pixbet’s return to operation in Paraíba.
