Osaka Prefecture and the developers of MGM Osaka warned that unauthorised websites falsely claim connections to the planned integrated resort. Their joint statement said the project has no affiliation with online casino services, and officials cautioned that the sites could direct users to overseas gambling platforms.

Hokkaido is reportedly weighing a bid for a casino resort in Sapporo and may seek interest from international casino companies and banks. Japan’s government is expected to reopen applications for two remaining integrated resort licences in 2027; the report said only MGM Osaka had been approved so far.
Konami Gaming said it submitted applications to Japan’s Casino Regulatory Commission across all applicable manufacturer licence categories. The company said it was the first gaming equipment manufacturer to file across those categories; its applications precede the planned 2030 opening of MGM Osaka.
JPMorgan analyst Daniel Politzer estimated that MGM Osaka could contribute up to $31 per share to MGM Resorts International’s value when the resort is fully operational. The analyst put its present discounted value at $19 per share; the project is scheduled to open in 2030 and is being developed with Orix Corporation.
Osaka city authorities said they plan to begin an RFP for facilities in Yumeshima Phase 2 between late June and early July. The city aims to select a developer by winter in fiscal 2026–27 and estimates the phase will cost about JPY1 trillion; the development is intended to support MGM Osaka.
