Alberta’s 90-day transition period for unregulated online operators ended on 13 October. The Alberta iGaming Corporation said 51 approved sites were live, with 30 operators launching regulated platforms. Operators without final authorisation must shut down in the province.

The board established the changes and Ontario’s Attorney General approved them; they add or amend fines to reflect regulatory changes affecting certain licence holders, with maximum amounts varying by offence.
Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission says lottery retailers selling CBD oil or other cannabis-based products must stop immediately and remove them from their premises. The regulator says selling such products could put a retailer’s registration at risk, while permitted cannabis accessories may be sold subject to federal advertising rules.
