Oklahoma Senate rejects sports betting bill 27-21

Regulation

Oklahoma’s Senate rejected House Bill 1047 by 27 votes to 21 on 22 April, stopping the proposal to legalise online and retail sports betting in its current form. The bill had passed the state House; an amendment proposing tribal control of mobile and in-person betting preceded the Senate vote. The amendment’s failure would have sent the bill back to the House for further discussion.

The vote leaves the proposed legal framework for online and retail sports betting in Oklahoma stalled.
