Norway's Stortinget passed amendments to the lottery law on 24 April 2020 giving Lotteritilsynet more effective tools to investigate and halt illegal pyramid schemes, with effect from 1 July 2020. The changes stem from EU consumer-protection cooperation rules, including the CPC regulation (EU 2017/2394) in force since 17 January 2020.
