Ninth Circuit denies Kalshi stay in Nevada prediction-markets case
The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit denied Kalshi’s emergency request to pause action in Nevada while its appeal proceeds, according to the report. The Nevada Gaming Control Board then filed a civil enforcement action and sought a temporary restraining order in state court, alleging that Kalshi offers wagering without a state licence. The Board is seeking a court declaration and injunction.
The ruling leaves Nevada regulators able to pursue state-court action against Kalshi’s event contracts.
