NFL urges CFTC to restrict manipulable prediction market contracts
The NFL has asked the CFTC to restrict prediction market contracts on events it considers vulnerable to manipulation, including first passes and field goals, according to a reported letter to chairman Michael Selig. The league also proposed raising the NFL betting age from 18 to 21, prohibiting margin trading and creating certification for player-performance contracts.
The NFL’s proposals could restrict vulnerable prediction market contracts and impose new conditions on sports-related trading.
