New York lawmakers send sweepstakes casino bill to governor

Regulation

New York lawmakers sent SB 5935 to Governor Kathy Hochul after the measure received final legislative approval, according to the report. The bill would prohibit the dual-currency model used by sweepstakes casinos and could also expose payment processors, content suppliers and affiliates to legal consequences; Hochul has until 31 December to sign or veto it, or it will become law without action.

The bill could affect sweepstakes operators and their payment, content and affiliate partners in New York.
