New Jersey lawmakers advance bill to restrict online microbetting

Regulation

New Jersey lawmakers advanced a bill out of an Assembly committee that would prohibit online microbetting while allowing it at physical casinos and licensed racetracks, according to the report. Supporters cite addiction and sporting-integrity concerns, while critics warn a ban could send users to unregulated platforms and disadvantage local casinos.

Online betting operators could face restrictions and penalties if the proposed measure becomes law.
