Members of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe gathered outside the Massachusetts State House on 15 October to oppose proposed historical horse racing (HHR) machines, the tribe said. Tribal chairman Brian Weeden told those assembled that the terminals would threaten the tribe's sovereignty and its economic future, particularly if they were installed at Raynham Park, a former greyhound track a few miles from the tribe's First Light Casino in Taunton.
