Nevada lawmakers change casino salon rules and enact Strip safety measures
Nevada enacted changes to casino gaming salons through Senate Bill 459, allowing casinos to set slot minimums subject to Gaming Control Board approval and reducing the financial entry threshold to $20,000, with the board chair able to approve less. Governor Joe Lombardo also signed the Safe Streets and Neighborhoods Act, which could allow a court to bar people from the Las Vegas corridor for up to a year; the measure drew criticism from the ACLU of Nevada.
Nevada casinos gain flexibility over salon slot minimums, while the Safe Streets Act could restrict some patrons’ access to the Las Vegas corridor.
