Nevada Gaming Control Board warns prediction markets could extend into casino games

Regulation

Nevada Gaming Control Board chairman Mike Dreitzer warned that prediction markets could threaten the state’s gaming industry if they expand into slots and other casino games. He said Nevada considers sports prediction market activity illegal betting and reiterated that involvement in prediction markets is incompatible with participation in Nevada’s gaming industry. Nevada is also pursuing a federal court case against Kalshi and other operators.

Nevada licensees face a stated risk to their licences if they enter prediction markets, including outside the state.
