NetEnt has released Nunchucks, a six-reel slot game, the company announced. The game has 4,096 paylines, a stated return to player of 96.21% and a maximum win of 12,000 times the bet, according to the announcement.
According to the announcement, the slot is laid out over four rows and six reels and carries a high volatility rating. Wagers start at 0.20 and go up to 80, while the top payout reaches 12,000x.
The title follows four nuns who protect their parish against Asian mobsters, drawing on kung-fu imagery and martial weapons styled as religious objects. Among the symbols are the nuns themselves, the mobster Sinpin and items like crosses, communion boxes, grenades decorated with crosses, cross-shaped shuriken and nunchakus. Each nun brings her own power. The Colossal Nun is a Mystery Symbol that may expand from 2×2 to 4×4 and then become paying symbols or Giant Wilds. When the Wild Reel Nun's grenade blows up, every symbol on that reel turns Wild. The Multiplier Nun hands multipliers to one or more reels, and those multipliers count toward all wins on the affected reels. The Upgrade Nun strengthens Nun Features already triggered, so Colossal Mystery Symbols can grow bigger, as many as three extra Wild Reels may appear and the count of reels with live multipliers may double. Should the Colossal Nun Mystery Symbol land over a Wild Reel, it becomes a Giant Wild, and the source notes that "Nun symbols can randomly activate a respin that keeps their modifier active."
Sinpin stands for both the Bonus and Super Bonus Symbols. Landing three or more Bonus symbols sets off his attempt to extort the nuns, which the source says ends with him outmatched. The opening spin count is 8, 10, 12 or 14, set by how many Bonus or Super Bonus symbols were gathered. In both bonus modes, the source states that "Nun Features can trigger respins that keep their feature active and do not count toward the total number of spins." Super Bonus Spins go further by holding Nun Features open for the whole round, which the source links to supercharged wins. An Elevate Features option lets players boost their play or launch the bonus right away.
The game's soundtrack is available on Spotify, according to the announcement.
