NCAA urges CFTC to suspend college sports prediction markets

Regulation

The NCAA asked Commodity Futures Trading Commission chairman Michael Selig on 14 January to suspend prediction markets tied to college sports. The NCAA said it is willing to work with the CFTC on standards for student-athlete and consumer protection.

A suspension could affect operators offering college sports event contracts and the safeguards expected of them.
