NCAA joins Bad Actor Program to help sportsbooks restrict abusive bettors
The NCAA joined the Bad Actor Program, which helps sportsbooks identify and restrict bettors who threaten athletes, coaches and officials online. Its research found that betting-related posts accounted for 12% of verified abuse directed at NCAA championship participants, rising to 19% for men’s basketball; the programme was launched by IC360 and Signify Group in June.
Participation adds the NCAA to a shared effort that sportsbooks can use to restrict bettors linked to online threats.
