Michigan Gaming Control Board withdraws from NCPG over Kalshi membership
The Michigan Gaming Control Board said it is leaving the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) over Kalshi’s membership, in a letter dated 1 July. Executive director Henry Williams objected to Kalshi’s platinum-level membership; the board also said staff would leave NCPG committees and its sponsorship of the council’s conference had been cancelled. NCPG said it does not take a position on the legality of specific products or platforms.
Operators and regulators should note the Michigan board’s withdrawal and cancelled sponsorship over Kalshi’s NCPG membership.
