MGA approves Hacksaw licence extension for B2B prediction markets

Licences & markets · SectorWire deskSource published 2 min read

The Malta Gaming Authority has approved an extension of Hacksaw's existing B2B Critical Gaming Supply Licence to cover Type 3 Gaming Services, alongside its existing Type 1 Gaming Services authorisation, according to the company. Hacksaw announced the approval together with the launch of a new B2B prediction markets platform. The extension authorises the provision of B2B peer-to-peer prediction market services under the MGA regulatory framework.

Hacksaw Group CEO Ana Vrabic Verdir said prediction markets represent a new opportunity at the intersection of technology, entertainment and market participation. She said the company's existing platform, distribution capabilities and operator relationships position it to help businesses take part in the category, and that the launch reflects a strategy of extending Hacksaw's technology ecosystem into adjacent verticals.

Marcus Cordes, operational CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, said the company has created a solution that lets operators access prediction market capabilities efficiently and at scale. He said Hacksaw already works closely with operators across multiple jurisdictions and believes it can offer a streamlined path to market using technology, integrations and commercial infrastructure it has developed.

Hacksaw described the launch as a significant step forward for its technology platform. In Stockholm on Thursday, after the announcement, the company's shares changed hands at SEK57.15, up 3.44 per cent. Earlier in the session the stock had risen by more than 3 per cent.
