Mexico lawmakers propose public register of gambling permits
Mexico’s Permanent Commission received a draft resolution calling on the Interior Ministry, or SEGOB, to publish casino and online betting permits as open data. Submitted on 13 May by PRI lawmaker Rubén Ignacio Moreira Valdez, the proposal seeks permit-holder details, authorised gambling types, venue status and domains linked to online platforms. It cites 351,236 gambling-related vulnerable-activity reports from January to September 2025 and at least 25.6 billion pesos in related financial movements through November 2025.
A public register could give operators and regulators greater visibility of permit holders, authorised activities and venue status.
