Medier reportedly sues Mike Tyson and wife for $2m over gambling appearance

Medier Ltd, owner of the Rabona online gaming brand, is reportedly suing Mike Tyson and his wife, Lakiha Spicer, in London's High Court for $2m, the Daily Mail reported. The claim concerns an alleged breach of a contract under which the couple were to appear at the iGB Live 2024 gambling conference in Amsterdam between 16 and 19 July 2024, according to the newspaper, which cited documents seen by journalists.

Medier says Tyson had agreed to take part in a promotional event for the company ahead of his fight with Jake Paul, which was originally scheduled for 20 July but was moved to 15 November 2024. The company says Tyson withdrew from all contractual obligations and accepted a rival $15m bid from Netflix instead, and that he feared attending the Amsterdam event could have breached his obligations to Netflix. According to the report, Tyson was to speak with four presenters, one dressed as a pigeon, share childhood stories, demonstrate boxing techniques on a mannequin modelled on Evander Holyfield and play casino games on Rabona's websites.

Tyson and Spicer deny breaching the contract, arguing that Medier's interpretation of their obligations went beyond what was originally signed. The defendants say Tyson's only obligation was to play games on Rabona and nothing else. Medier disputes this, arguing that after signing the Netflix deal the couple decided to renege on the agreement because the Netflix partnership offered them better value, which the company's attorney says does not void their responsibilities under the original contract.

According to the report, Tyson received $190,000 of the agreed sum, which was payable in instalments, and Medier is seeking full reimbursement. The report was published on 15 October 2026.
