Massachusetts Gaming Commission opens anonymised casino data portal for researchers

Regulation

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission opened a portal on 10 July 2026 for approved researchers to request anonymised casino player data, spokesperson Thomas Mills said. The Public Health Advocacy Institute dropped its lawsuit against the commission after the data access process was established. PHAI director Mark Gottlieb said the organisation plans to press lawmakers to require sportsbooks to share anonymised data.

The portal gives researchers access to casino data, while sportsbook data-sharing requirements remain under discussion.
