Malta examines a dedicated prediction markets framework
Malta’s economy minister Silvio Schembri said the government is examining a legal framework for prediction markets, while Prime Minister Robert Abela indicated that the Malta Gaming Authority could become the sector’s licensing authority. The report also says the European Securities and Markets Authority reiterated on 3 July that certain binary-outcome contracts fall under existing EU financial rules.
