Malaysia’s MCMC plans World Cup monitoring of online gambling
Malaysia’s Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission would intensify monitoring and take action against online gambling content and betting websites during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Fahmi said enforcement would cover websites as well as mobile apps throughout the tournament, which runs from 11 June to 19 July.
Operators and suppliers active in Malaysia face increased monitoring of gambling websites and content during the tournament.
