Malaysia drafts federal law targeting illegal gambling
Malaysia is drafting a federal law to address illegal gambling, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said. He said the bill could be tabled at the next parliamentary sitting, depending on drafting progress; officials have yet to decide whether it will be a standalone act or amend existing laws. The proposal is intended to strengthen enforcement, particularly against online gambling.
The proposed law could change enforcement powers and requirements for gambling-related online services in Malaysia.
