Malavasi urges Italy to prioritise public health in gambling reform
Democratic Party deputy Ilenia Malavasi told the Italian Chamber of Deputies that public health and protection for vulnerable people should guide the planned reform of public gambling. Citing the finance ministry’s 2025 figures, she said gambling stakes reached €165.3bn, including more than €100bn online, while net player losses were €22bn.
Reform choices may affect protections for vulnerable people amid reported gambling stakes and net player losses in Italy.
