Lorenzo Malagola, a member of parliament for Fratelli d'Italia, said more work is needed on responsible gambling communication, particularly where young people are concerned. He was speaking in Rome at the presentation of the results of Fondazione Fair's Observatory on Responsible Gambling Communication, according to a report of the event.
Malagola said communication in the gambling sector is a delicate matter that carries an added responsibility. He said a lot has been done, which he said the research confirms, and that the theme is one on which a widespread sense of responsibility is felt. He added that much has been done in the relationship with the institutions, which he described as equally important because responsibility rests with industry and institutions together rather than with the industry alone.
On young people, Malagola said there are concerns relating to everyday life. He said the question is how to ensure gambling remains responsible at an appropriate age and within a safe ecosystem, and that the issue requires more ideas, commitment, regulation and resources. He said the attendance at the event appeared to show a willingness to act and to act together.
