Mainz court orders asset freeze in Tipico player-loss claim

Regulation

The Mainz Regional Court ordered an asset arrest on 13 January 2026 in a player’s claim for about €100,000 plus interest against companies operating the Tipico brand, according to the report. The player’s losses relate to gambling between 2014 and 2017, when the companies lacked German gambling licences; the required concessions were issued from 2020 and 2022.

The order may affect assets of the Tipico companies while the player pursues recovery of alleged gambling losses.
