In brief
Macao casinos recorded gross gaming revenue of MOP21.68bn in October 2026. That was 10% below the MOP24.086bn recorded in the same month of 2025. According to data released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Macao's gaming regulator, October revenue was 20% higher than September, when casino revenue stood at MOP18.063bn.
October was the fifth consecutive month of year-on-year decline in gross gaming revenue and the second-largest fall since the start of 2026, after June. Year-on-year changes were negative by 12.1% in June, 8.4% in July, 1.2% in August and September, and 10% in October. Revenue had grown in each of the first five months of the year, including a 24% increase in January. October 2025 had been the highest-revenue month of that year up to that point, at more than MOP24bn, which affects the comparison. The October result came despite the Chinese Golden Week holidays and several events held in the city. The NBA China Games were played at the Venetian Macao early in the month.
Cumulative revenue for January to October 2026 was MOP208.796bn, up 1.6% on MOP205.427bn in the same period of 2025. Cumulative growth has gradually narrowed from levels above 10% reached in spring. In the third quarter, total casino gross gaming revenue fell 3.8% year on year between July and September. Over the same period, mass-market baccarat contracted by 7.9%.
The next two months will be decisive for meeting the target the Macao government has set for 2026. The public budget projects gross gaming revenue of MOP236bn over the full year. Counting cumulative results through October, casinos must bring in a further MOP27.2bn combined in November and December to reach that forecast.
