Regulation · SectorWire deskSource published
Summary
The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority has issued a public notice requiring telecoms operators and licensed value-added service aggregators to meet state gaming requirements within 30 days. The LSLGA said federal NCC permits do not authorise gaming or betting in Lagos State, and intermediaries such as MNOs and payment channels do not exempt underlying operators from state licensing.
Why it matters
Telecoms and VAS providers facilitating Lagos gaming must verify operator licences, report transaction records and suspend unlicensed operators or face enforcement.
