Louisiana lawmakers send bettor harassment bill to governor
Louisiana lawmakers unanimously passed SB 325, sending it to Governor Jeff Landry for consideration. If signed, the bill would let the Louisiana Gaming Control Board exclude bettors who threaten violence or harm against people involved in sporting events when the threats relate to sports gaming; it is expected to take effect on 1 August.
The bill would give Louisiana’s regulator authority to bar qualifying bettors from gambling in the state.
