Loto-Québec reported growth in the first quarter of its 2026-2027 fiscal year, according to a company release dated 17 September 2026. For the 90-day period from 1 April to 29 June 2026, the company said it generated total revenue of CAD782.6m, an increase of CAD16.1m, or 2.1%, compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year. Consolidated net income was CAD398.1m, up CAD13.7m, or 3.6%, which the company said exceeded its target.

By sector, lotteries generated revenue of CAD241.1m, up 2.1%. Casinos and gaming halls recorded CAD337.6m, up 4.4%. Gaming establishments posted CAD208.4m, down 1.8%. Loto-Québec said it paid close to CAD460m in lottery prizes across Quebec during the quarter, including a CAD40m Lotto Max jackpot won by a couple, the largest of the quarter.

President and chief executive Jean-François Bergeron said the company was continuing on its trajectory and again recording growth results, which he attributed to the sustained work of its teams in developing the offering responsibly. He said the casino sector showed higher attendance, which was reflected in the results, and that the company was continuing efforts to offer a responsible, attractive and diversified entertainment experience.

Bergeron also said the company's certification in security from the World Lottery Association was renewed, which he said recognised its teams' commitment to maintaining public trust in its products and services and confirmed processes and controls meeting the sector's highest information security standards.

Among the quarter's other activities, Loto-Québec said it partnered with more than 50 events across Quebec during the festival season and continued to encourage organisers to adopt environmentally responsible practices. It said the National Hockey League playoffs and the soccer World Cup drew interest from bettors, and it used the occasions to recall that chance plays an important role in sports betting.

The company said the L'instant restaurant opened at the Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy in early June, the first step in repositioning the complex's dining offering. It also launched L'art en mouvement with BIXI Montréal, in which 16 BIXI bikes were turned into artworks by four Quebec creators, with 16 gallery stations set up across Montreal. Loto-Québec said it was continuing its commitment to professional soccer by partnering with a new team, FC Supra du Québec, which plays in the Première ligue canadienne, after CF Montréal and the Roses de Montréal. The quarterly report is available on the company's website.
