Liquor & Gaming NSW sets 2026 priorities for gambling influencer marketing

Regulation

Liquor & Gaming NSW identified influencer marketing and operator accountability among its gambling priorities for 2026. Deputy Secretary Tarek Barakat said operators remain responsible for marketing carried out by third parties, while the regulator plans to examine paid and unpaid partnerships, youth audience demographics, account closures, VIP programmes and casino governance.

Operators using influencers or affiliates will face scrutiny over marketing compliance, audience reach and their account-closure processes.
