KSA publishes UvA algorithm for assessing risky online casino play

Summary
Researchers at the University of Amsterdam have presented an algorithm that estimates the risk behaviour of online casino players from their actual play, the KSA said. The model, developed by doctoral researcher Charles de Leau with professors Reinout Wiers and Johan Bollen, is available on the regulator's website. The KSA's addiction prevention fund financed the research.
Why it matters
The KSA-funded model gives the Dutch regulator and researchers a transparent tool for early signalling of risky play.
