KSA issues player bank-account verification guidance for Dutch operators

Regulation

The Netherlands’ KSA issued guidance requiring remote-gambling licensees to check that a player’s full name matches the name on a payment account before or no later than the first deposit from a new or changed account. The guidance followed an investigation of nine operators using data from four Dutch banks, which found checks were not always adequate. Operators must recheck accounts that have not been verified against all names, while those already meeting the guidance do not need to repeat checks across their full databases.

Remote-gambling operators must verify account-holder names to address risks involving minors, self-excluded players and duplicate accounts.
