KSA documents show payment demands concerning transactions to illegal gambling sites

Regulation

Documents released by the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) show that it sought transaction records from banks and payment providers linked to suspected illegal gambling, according to a report on the disclosures. In 2018, the regulator requested iDEAL transaction data involving Unibet accounts from ABN AMRO and ING, giving the banks two weeks to respond; later records describe an expansion to electronic money institutions in March 2022.

The disclosures detail the KSA's use of payment-sector data and its expectations of banks and payment providers dealing with suspected illegal gambling.
