Japan plans 2027 application window for two integrated resort licences

Licences & markets

Japan's Tourism Agency is preparing an application window for local governments seeking to host integrated resorts with casinos, reportedly running from 6 May to 5 November 2027. A draft Cabinet order remains subject to public discussion before formal adoption; the law allows up to three locations nationwide, with Osaka already selected.

Local governments have a defined future window to seek one of the two remaining integrated resort locations.
