Italy’s Council of State rejects gaming hall’s damages appeal
Italy’s Council of State rejected an appeal by a company operating a gaming hall in Carpi, leaving in place the dismissal of its damages claim against the municipality, reportedly. The claim concerned operating-hour restrictions imposed in 2020 and applied during periods in 2020 and 2021; the court found that the company had not sought interim relief to suspend the order.
The ruling confirms that annulment of local gaming-hour restrictions did not automatically entitle the operator to compensation.
