Italian senator asks ministers to refer crash-game apps to regulators
Senator Cinzia Pellegrino of Brothers of Italy submitted a question to three ministers about mobile applications including Chicken Road and similar crash games. She asked whether they should refer the issue to the Customs and Monopolies Agency, the competition authority and postal police, citing concerns about gambling-related activity and potentially unfair commercial practices.
The parliamentary question could prompt scrutiny of mobile apps that may involve gambling and consumer-protection issues.
