Italian government proposes €900m annual gaming revenue measures for 2027-2029

Regulation

The Italian government is seeking more than €900 million a year in additional gaming revenue under its 2027-2029 budget measures, according to a media report. The reported proposals include a 1% increase in the PREU levy on slots and VLTs and three-year extensions of concessions for machines, betting, bingo and Gratta e Vinci; a fifth Lotto draw is also under consideration.

Operators in several concession sectors could face higher levies and more costly extensions under the reported proposals.
