Informa agrees to acquire Clarion Events for £2.24bn

Informa announced an agreement to acquire Clarion Events from Blackstone for £2.24 billion, including its WorldGaming business and the ICE and iGB L!VE brands. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2026 and will be funded with acquisition financing and proceeds from an equity placing and retail offer totalling about £940 million. Informa also plans to spin out Taylor & Francis.

If completed, the acquisition would add ICE and iGB L!VE to Informa’s portfolio and reshape event ownership.

IGE, GN Media and WorldGaming said Casa Italia will debut at ICE Barcelona 2027, running from 18 to 20 January at Fira Barcelona Gran Via. The organisers said the initiative will offer Italy’s regulated gaming sector a space for industry, institutional and regulatory discussion, with its official opening scheduled for 18 January 2027 at 12.00.
