Indonesia ministry and Meta form team to address online gambling content
Indonesia’s Communication and Digital Ministry formed a joint team with Meta to tackle online gambling content, the minister said on 30 June. The ministry reported a 128% rise in gambling-related comments over two weeks compared with the January-to-June 2026 period. A cybersecurity expert said the effort could improve coordination but argued that enforcement should also address financial channels and networks.
The team could give authorities a route to coordinate with social media platforms on gambling promotions.
