Indiana lawmakers back proposed Fort Wayne casino relocation

Regulation

Indiana lawmakers discussed a proposal last week to move Rising Star Casino to Fort Wayne, with at least five of the 10 attending supporting the idea. A study estimated annual casino revenue could rise from $41 million to $204 million, while state tax revenue could reach $61.1 million; Sen. Tyler Johnson opposed the move, and the Miami Tribe denied plans for a casino on its land.

The proposal could change casino competition and projected state tax revenue in Indiana.
