Illinois Gaming Board issues 65 cease-and-desist orders to online operators

Enforcement & compliance

The Illinois Gaming Board issued 65 cease-and-desist orders to online casino and sweepstakes operators on 5 February, after working with the Attorney General’s Office. The orders require recipients to block Illinois residents and stop offering prizes in the state; the Board says the platforms provided unlicensed internet gambling and warns of possible civil or criminal penalties.

Operators named in the orders must stop serving Illinois residents or may face further enforcement and penalties.
