IBPE questions Brazil’s order ending fixed-odds betting under MP 1.394
The Brazilian Institute of Politics and Economics said it questioned MP 1.394/2026, which ordered an end to fixed-odds betting in Brazil. The IBPE said its objection concerned the executive’s chosen process, arguing that a regulated sector was ended unilaterally without debate in Congress. It said the measure must be considered by the legislature within 120 days to become law.
The measure’s legislative fate could determine whether fixed-odds betting operators may continue in Brazil.
