Holland Casino Online director warns proposed Dutch ad ban may prompt exits

Regulation

Holland Casino Online managing director Nicolas Fleiderman said some online casino operators may reconsider their presence in the Netherlands if a proposed total ban on gambling advertising and bonuses takes effect. He expects the ban to start in January 2028, following a bill expected a year earlier. Fleiderman said smaller and mid-sized operators would be particularly affected because they rely on paid advertising and welcome bonuses to attract players.

The proposed ban could change operators’ customer-acquisition options and decisions about remaining in the Dutch market.
