Greentube launches Piggy Prizes: Ghost of Gambini slot

Greentube, the digital gaming division of NOVOMATIC, launched the slot Piggy Prizes: Ghost of Gambini, the company said. The game is a Halloween-themed addition to the Piggy Prizes series and includes a second Gambini character, according to the company's press release.

The game keeps the series' locked-prize mechanic, with coin and pot symbols chained and padlocked on the reels. These unlock and award prizes when they appear alongside a Gambini or Ghost symbol on the central reel, and both characters also act as wild symbols. The Ghost of Gambini symbol adds new coins and jackpots to the reels and increases the value of any existing coin it lands on.

Magic Spin can stop the central reel first with a Gambini symbol visible, while Magic Rewind can move the central reel back so that a Gambini symbol appears and rewind non-winning reels until they land on locked jackpot symbols. Each time a Gambini symbol appears in the centre, it throws a coin into one or both of the pigs' pots. When a pot reaches its maximum size and explodes, the Lock & Spin feature begins with three spins, rising to four if both pots explode at the same time.

White Ghosts place bronze frames and upgrade them to silver and gold, while golden Ghosts place gold frames directly. At the end of the feature, all frames convert into cash prizes or jackpots. When Ghost of Gambini explodes a pot, players enter Super Lock & Spin, in which only golden Ghosts can appear and each gold frame awards a jackpot.

Richard Ganster, Greentube's director of game strategy and game portfolio management, said the Piggy Prizes series has a loyal player base and that Ghost of Gambini gives those players a reason to watch the central reel on every spin. He said the second Gambini symbol adds coins, increases values and feeds the pigs, so the base game builds momentum towards the bonus. Ganster added that Super Lock & Spin turns each frame into a jackpot, giving the feature a clear maximum prize, and that the Halloween setting makes the title attractive to operators for the fourth quarter.
