Ireland’s Gambling Regulatory Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the Danish Gambling Authority on 7 July 2026. GRAI said the agreement is intended to support information sharing and coordination on compliance, monitoring and enforcement between the regulators.
The agreement may strengthen cross-border regulatory coordination for operators active in both jurisdictions.

Remote betting and betting intermediary licences issued by the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland commenced on 1 July 2026, the regulator said. Licensed operators must meet obligations including age verification, paying out winnings, a ban on facilitating credit or accepting credit cards, and closing accounts on request. In-person betting licences will commence later in the year, with further licence categories opening through 2027 and 2028.
Ireland's GRAI is preparing to seek a High Court order against an unnamed major prediction-market operator that continues serving the Irish market after regulatory intervention, director general Anne Marie Caulfield said. The regulator has sent warning letters to affected operators, while Caulfield said most platforms contacted had withdrawn or geoblocked their services.
