GRAI brings remote betting licences into force in Ireland

Licences & markets

Ireland’s Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRAI) brought remote betting and betting intermediary licences into force on 1 July 2026, according to reports. Licensed operators must meet requirements including age checks, regular payment of winnings and a ban on credit or credit-card payments; licences for retail betting are due later this year.

Remote betting operators must meet the new licensing and consumer-protection requirements to operate in Ireland.
