Gibraltar’s government granted Predictstreet a Betting Intermediary (B2C) licence, according to the government’s updated list of approved betting operators. The prediction market plans to launch on 9 April, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which begins on 11 June.

Gibraltar is considering Wire Markets Ltd’s application for an approval in principle for WagerWire’s prediction market, the company and Gibraltar minister Nigel Feetham said. The application remains subject to due diligence, assessment and regulatory requirements; the company plans to launch before the NFL season begins this autumn.

Lyman said he had recommended that the application proceed and that officials prioritised it ahead of the FIFA World Cup, while maintaining that the accelerated process involved scrutiny. The licence was first issued under the 2005 Act and later carried over under the 2025 Act, he said.
Gibraltar’s government authorised Predict Street Ltd as a betting intermediary under the Gambling Act 2005, according to the report. The company planned to launch its blockchain-based platform on 9 April, initially offering contracts linked to the 2026 football World Cup, and had agreed a multi-year partnership with FIFA. Gibraltar’s Gambling Division will supervise the operator.
Gibraltar’s government said Minister Nigel Feetham met Alberta Minister Dale Nally and regulatory officials. Discussions covered gaming licences, market access, digital assets and potential regulatory cooperation.
