French police investigate suspected interference with Paris temperature readings
French police are investigating whether readings from a Météo-France weather station at Charles de Gaulle Airport were interfered with after bets on Polymarket coincided with a sharp temperature change. Météo-France reported irregularities in the data and the condition of an instrument, and filed a complaint with the cybercrime unit. Polymarket has switched to another station for its Paris markets but has not cancelled bets settled using the earlier readings.
The investigation raises settlement and data-integrity concerns for prediction market operators using external sources.
